Denmark World Cup 2010 Team
After missing out on the last World Cup at Germany, the Danish Dynamite is back with a bang securing a spot at the 2010 World Cup to be held at South Africa. The Danes scorched an impressive path en route to securing their qualification for the World Cup 2010, winning 9 out of the ten games they played losing only to Hungary in the last game. The Danes will be looking to better their previous attempts at the World Cup where they reached the quarter-finals.
Denmark impressed in the qualifying rounds for Group 1 with a 3-2 win followed by a 1-1 draw with Portugal and then went to win against rivals Sweden with a solitary goal on both the occasions they played. The Hungarians were the only ones to put a dent in the almost clean sweep by the Danish Dynamites beating them in the last game of the group which did nothing to change the status of the group.
Olsen’s eleven is filled with big names from all the top European clubs like Juventus, Feyenoord, Liverpool and Arsenal. Captain Tomasson leads the Feynoord forward line, he comes with a wealth of experience having played for AC Milan and Villarreal before starting his stint at Feynoord. The midfield line-up of Daniel Jensen (Bremen), Christian Poulsen (Juventus) and Dennis Rommedahl (Ajax) is one of the best among the teams at the World Cup.
Morten Olsen’s tenth year as the Danish coach will be complete at the 2010 World cup in South Africa. Olsen took the Danish dynamite to the 2002 FIFA World Cup as well as UEFA Euro 2004.Olsen was a part of R.S.C. Anderlecht that won the UEFA Cup in 1993. His coaching spells include time spent at Cologne as well as Ajax.
The 2010 World Cup marks the fourth appearance at the World Cup and the Danes seem prepared to be the cause for a shock upset or two.
